Romanian lightweight Monica Ungureanu won the Grand Slam in Baku in 2015 and the European Open in Cluj, both U48kg. She is multiple Romanian Champion and won medals at European U17 and U20 championships. She took bronze at the European Championships in Warsaw in 2017. Seventh at the 2015 World Championships. She won gold at the Grand Prix in Tbilisi in 2016. She won bronze at the Grand Prix in Düsseldorf in 2017. She clinched the silver medal at the Grand Prix in Marrakech in 2019.
