João Derly

João Derly was double World Champion in 2005 and 2007 and he won the Junior world title in 2000 in Nabeul (TUN). He competed at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. After his career he went into politics and was elected in the congress. He was the idol of the later triple world champion and triple olympic bronze medallist Mayra Aguiar, both from the same club SOGIPA.
