Tessie Savelkouls has been nominated at the Dutch NOC*NSF for participation at the Tokyo Olympic Games. Tessie Savelkouls' nomination is special, because she is coming back from a huge injury.

During the Grand Slam Paris in 2020, Savelkouls suffered a serious injury to her knee and foot. "Tessie has delivered an incredible performance," explains top sport director Tjaart Kloosterboer. "The way in which Tessie has approached her rehabilitation both physically and mentally is impressive. Step by step she has come closer to her goal." Last week, Savelkouls took her last test during an international training course. "Our Olympic coaches are unanimous that Tessie is ready for the Games. Together with the findings of the medical staff, this has led to the decision to take Tessie to Tokyo."
