Youth Olympic Games postponed to 2026

Young judoka will be disappointed as Senegal and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) have mutually agreed to postpone the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Dakar 2022 to 2026. The Youth Olympic Games were first held in 2010 in Singapore and many young athletes gained experience at Olympic level with all circumstances. In 2014 the Games were held in Nanjing and in 2018 in Buenos Aires. Read more

The coronavirus hit the world of sports hard and a lot of events were cancelled, in facts all sports was cancelled including the Olympic Games. Kathrin Unterwurzacher retires after 12 year top career

Austrian top athlete Kathrin Unterwurzacher retires from international judo. The 28-year two-time European Championships medalist and 2016 Olympian announced to quite her career as a sports soldier and competitive athlete. After 12 years in the Austrian national team she has to retire due to a damaged right knee. Unterwurzacher: "The pain is too severe. My right knee no longer allows top positions." Read more


Israeli men's team back in quarantine

The Israeli national men’s Judo team will begin a 14-day quarantine period after one of its members was reported to have tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday night.
