Belgian judoka Joachim Bottieau won European bronze in 2012 and 2013. He won World Cups in Sao Paolo (2011) and Bucharest (2013-2017) and won the Grand Prix in Düsseldorf in 2015 and 2016. Joachim comes from a true judo family in Belgium. He is five time Belgian champion. In total he calied 13 World Cup medals. He won two bronze medals at the Junior European Championships and two U23 Euro medals. He competed at six World Championships and two Olympics. Due to injuries he retired in August 2019.
