Slovenian top coach Marjan Fabjan (Fabi) won national titles between 1977 and 1992 U78kg. Multiple champion of Slovenia, Yugoslavia and even Austria. Later he became a successful coach of Olympic champion Urska Zolnir, Tina Trstenjak, Ana Velensek, Lucija Polavder, Rok Draksic and Mihael Zgank. He delivered a European and a World title and two Olympic titles. He was awarded as the 2016 Best women’s coach of the Year by the EJU. Fabjan, Slovenian Judo’s Sport Director was born in 1958 in a house on the land on which his home and dojo now stand, he and some friends built the first dojo in 1992.
