In the -81kg category, Tato Grigalashvili of Georgia displayed incredible motivation to reclaim his title, achieving victory in just 44 seconds. The current World Champion was determined to secure the gold, and his strong hiza guruma technique secured him the 2024 title, leaving opponent Frank De Wit of the Netherlands with the silver.

Despite being unable to defend his -81kg title, Vedat Albayrak of Turkey secured a place on the podium after a challenging contest with former World Champion Sagi Muki of Israel. Albayrak countered his opponent for the winning score.

In another bout, 2018 European bronze medallist Antonio Esposito of Italy faced Olympic medallist Shamil Borchashvili of Austria, who was seeking his first continental medal. The match went into golden score with two shidos on each side of the scoreboard. Eventually, Borchashvili secured osae komi for his victory, adding the European title to his list of achievements after Olympic and world success.
