Judo in Russia got more popular because of Vladimir Putin who is honorory president of the International Judo Federation. Since Ezio Gamba became Manager of the Russian Judo Team, Russia celebrated 8 Olympic medals and 5 Olympic titles. Khasan Khalmurzaev and Beslan Mudranov became Olympic Champion in Rio where Natalia Kuziutina won bronze. In 2012 Arsen Galstyan, Mansur Isaev and Tagir Khaibulaev won judo gold in London.
