Brazilian Maria Suelen Altheman reached the final of the World Championships twice in 2013 and 2014. She won the Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi in 2016 and she won the Grand Slam of Ekaterinburg in 2019. She took gold at the Grand Prix in Düsseldorf and silver in Tbilisi. Altheman won World silver with Brazil in 2013 and won World Military Championships silver. She won bronze at the Grand Slam in Tokyo and IJF Masters in 2017 and 2018. Altheman bagged a bronze medal at the Grand Slams in Tbilisi and Kazan in 2021. She finished seventh at the Tokyo2020 Games.
