The Summer Olympic Games were due to be held in Tokyo in 2020, but like many other recent sporting events, the games have been postponed until 2021. It is the first time the Olympics have been postponed and rescheduled in the games’ modern history. Now we're back in business with the start of the World Judo Tour.

The event is now scheduled to take place this summer, from 23 July to 8 August, and it is retaining the Tokyo 2020 name, despite no longer taking place in 2020. The delay of the Olympics also caused the delay of the tie-in video game from Sega. Many of you will recognise gaming while travelling to events. Well athletes, here's your chance.

Has Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 - The Official Video Game already been released?

Although the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 - The Official Video Game was launched in Japan in 2019, it has not yet been released anywhere else in the world. But it is due to be released for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC later this year. The game features many of the popular sports that will take place at the Olympics, including judo.

The only other Olympics video game to feature judo is the Beijing 2008 game. In fact, other than the two Olympics video games, judo has only ever been featured in three other video games: 1986’s Brian Jacks Uchi Mata, 1990’s Moero!! Juudou Warriors, and the visual novel game Sakura Spirit from 2014. There are not even any judo slot games available, despite there being plenty of martial-arts-based slots, like the fabulous Bruce Lee slot game, which is available to play at a オンラインカジノ (online casino). With so few judo video games on the market, fans of the sport are eagerly anticipating being able to play judo with Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 - The Official Video Game.

When did judo first become an Olympic sport?

Although judo was not featured in an Olympics video game until 2008, the sport first appeared at the actual Summer Olympics for the first time back in 1964, when the games took place in Tokyo for the first time. Apart from the 1968 Olympic Games, judo has been included in all Summer Olympics since. However, only male judokas were allowed to participate until 1988, when women were allowed to participate as a demonstration sport. Women judokas were only actually awarded medals as of the 1992 Olympics.
