Dutch judoka Vera Wandel became cadet World Champion in 2022 in Sarajevo and European U23 Champion in 2023 in Potsdam of one of the youngest ever. She claimed the gold medal at the EYOF Banska Bistrica in 2022. She became Dutch U18 champion in 2021 in The Hague. Vera clinched bronze at the Dutch Juniors in 2022 and 2024 and bronze at the Dutch senior Championships in 2021. She took gold at the Rotterdam Open and Eindhoven Espoirs in 2023. She took gold at the European Cup in Malaga in 2023. Bagged a bronze medal at the 2024 Junior European Cup in Birmingham.
